The only thing I had to do when I brought it home was to throw it in the dryer on low heat to get rid of the excess "fluff." No trimming or cutting--so easy! Time will tell how well it will hold up, but for $14, I thought is was worth a try.
And, the best part? She thinks she can make snow angels :)
For another fun project using faux fur: check out these cute cut-out sheepskins from Young House Love.

I love it! The perfect touch to a very sweet space.
ReplyDeleteSo creative and it looks really good! And, your daughter is so cute! I know Ikea sells some for around $25 but they're small in size. I'm off to check out Young House Love!
ReplyDeleteOh what a cutie! How did you do her polka dots in her room, I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's fantastic! What a lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteExactly. That price is perfect. I've done the same thing in the past.

ReplyDeletethat is so fun! I want a rug I can make snow angels on too- I must go get some of this fabric asap
ReplyDeleteshe is a very lucky little girl! the polka dot walls are almost as cute as the snow angels. adorable!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, especially in a kid's room where it'll get a bit dirtied up anyway. And your daughter (and her room) are SO cute. LOVE the hot pink.
ReplyDeleteThe whole room is amazing. I LOve love it. Your style is super cute.
ReplyDeleteI had exactly the same rug for my daughter's room. She coloured on it, rolled on it, played on it and the dog slept on it. We washed it in the machine all the time. Eventually I got sick of it and made a dog bed out of it. They last forever. Great addition to the fab room.

Love your daughter's room! The wallpaper is fabulous! And yes, I'm a big fan of layering rugs over carpet, which so many people are afraid to do! You did a wonderful job :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that I found your blog via Odi et Amo -- I love it. Great job on your daughter's room. It looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteMy little girl adores your daughter's room. She has the same carpet color in her room. We bought it in one of the tile stores (Tampa) and had it installed last month. I'm thinking of painting her room once we are done with the installation of the Sarasota flooring for the new nursery. I think that the matching polka dots walls and pillow are brilliant, and your daughter is very lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe fur rug really looked so cute and adorable. I think every little girl would want to chill and relax in this wonderful bedroom. And I think with proper maintenance and a regular visit to some carpet cleaners (Cypress), this rug will maintain its beautiful look. Shops that offer carpet cleaning (Cypress area) has lots of unique cleaning services and they have wonderful staff as well.
ReplyDeleteYet again, you are a super smartie pants...and the "snow angel" is about as cute as it gets!
ReplyDeleteHow did this "rug" hold up? We are thinking of doing faux fur for our family room.....
