Beach Dreaming

We’re back after spending last week at the beach, playing in the water and digging our toes in the sand. . .

It made me think about the beach house I would like to have “someday”.  (It never hurts to dream.)

I would use lots of white paint and natural textures. . .

And, I would have a little writing loft—overlooking the ocean--where I’d work on my book for a few hours every morning.  (When I “grow up”,  I’d like to write a novel, not a decorating book.  I don’t quite have what it’s going to be about all worked out just yet, but maybe that will come. . .)

And, I’ll drink coffee the entire time I work each morning.

After lunch, I’ll go to the beach and play in the waves every day for an hour or two for my exercise.

And, I’ll work on my shell collection.

Oh, and since this is my daydream, I’ll also have perfect beach hair like this:

Instead of like this:

In late afternoon, I’ll head back to my loft and work on my abstract paintings that look like the sky.

And, for good measure, I’ll take a little nap in a corner like this:

And, at night, I’ll host fabulous dinner parties on the beach for all of our beach friends :)

Then, I’ll do it all again the next day.

Am I the only one whose mind wanders while I’m sitting in the sun? :)

  1. Absolutely not! I was dreaming about the same thing this weekend. But ours was in the woods, with a huge pond that the deck goes out over, where we can wake up and fish and drink our coffee while enjoying a cool gentle breeze!

  2. Sounds perfect to me! We just arrived home from a week at the beach also. There's just something about hearing the waves crash on the shore that I love! ~ Kim @ Sand & Sisal

  3. You sound just like me. We went to the beach over the 4th and went to a few open houses. This house that we saw sounds like your dream house: http://www.kiawahisland.com/real-estate/property/438/0020/

  4. I also daydream quite a bit. I guess I feel if there is enough daydreaming there may be some reality that maybe, just maybe might slip out here and there. *smile*
The photos could have come out of some of my own dreams. The writing of a book is something also has been in my thoughts alot. That writing nook would be the perfect place to stay for hours drinking coffee and typing a wonderful book.

  6. Daydreaming is a hobby of mine!! But, my dream vacation home is in the mountains...walking along a wooded path, sipping coffee with the smell of pine all around the cool crisp thin air. Ahhh....what a DREAM!

  26. One of my favorite past times is planning my future beach house! It will be on the Forgotten Coast in FL and be a quaint old cottage. (And my mountain house, and my apartment in NYC...)
